Frequently Asked Questions
Where should I place the Shani Yantra at home?+
Place it in your home temple or puja ghar on a clean cloth — preferably black or dark blue. The yantra should face east or north. Keep it in a respectful, clean space where you perform daily prayers. Avoid placing it in bedrooms, bathrooms, or on the floor. Elevated placement on a shelf or altar is ideal.
Do I need to chant the mantra daily?+
For maximum benefit, chant "Om Sham Shanaishcharaye Namah" while offering prayers — ideally every Saturday. Daily chanting is beneficial but not mandatory. The consistency of your Saturday worship matters more than frequency. Even a simple offering of til oil diya and a few minutes of mantra recitation on Saturdays is meaningful.
Is the gold plating real gold?+
The yantra features a gold plating finish — a thin layer of gold-tone coating over the base metal. It's not solid gold or heavy gold plating used in jewellery. The plating provides a beautiful golden lustre appropriate for puja use and maintains its appearance with basic care. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning.
Can anyone install this yantra or do I need a pandit?+
You can perform a simple sthapana at home — clean the yantra, place it in your temple, light a til oil diya, and chant the Shani mantra with devotion. For a more elaborate installation with Vedic rituals, you may invite a pandit. Devotion and sincerity matter more than ceremony — a heartfelt personal puja is perfectly valid.
Is it a good gift?+
Yes — especially for family members or friends going through Sade Sati, experiencing career setbacks, or observing Shani worship. It's a thoughtful, meaningful gift for housewarmings, Shani Jayanti, and Diwali. The gold-plated finish makes it look premium and gift-worthy. Wrap respectfully — it's a sacred item, not a casual present.
