Do I really need a patch test?+
Yes — every single time, 48 hours ahead. Hair dye allergies can appear out of nowhere in someone who has coloured their hair for years, and a reaction on the scalp is far harder to deal with than one on your arm. It takes two minutes and it's the most important step on this page.
Will it stain my skin or pillow?+
Wipe any colour off your skin as soon as it lands, and let the hair set fully before you lie down or wear light-coloured clothes. A little care in the first few minutes prevents almost all of it.
Can I use it on chemically treated hair?+
If your hair is bleached, permed, straightened or recently coloured, test on a hidden strand first — treated hair takes colour differently and can come out darker or patchier than expected.
Is this a replacement for a full salon colour?+
